Are Smart Phones healthy enough?
I hope you are reading this using one of those. Yes, the inevitable electronic gadget or the common accessory of both men and women these days, a mobile phone. Off late, it is called as smart phone which is way smarter than humans. A smart phone has relieved us from boredom, home sickness, loneliness. Our questions are answered in no time with the help of this gadget which allows us to connect with the online world. The monthly bills are paid in no time, alarms and reminders are set, official reports are made, movies are watched and the list goes on.
It is beneficial in numerous ways however the question is, ìAre we utilizing it constructivelyî ? It is of no doubt that it has replaced the calendar, alarm, computer, music player, camera, notepad, etc but still it depends on the user whether he owns the gadget or the gadget owns him. We tend to overuse the phone very often ignoring the people around us and even our health. We tend to use it throughout the night or until midnight which disrupts our sleep on a daily basis. This leads to serious sleep disorder and in turn affects our mental well being.
We the adults are not only the users but the kids are also slowly becoming more addicted to the smart phones which is a pathetic truth. It is high time we think about the ill effects of over using this electronic gadget. In order to avoid the ill effects of the powerful gadget, we should restrict ourselves to use the gadget only for an hour or so a day. We as responsible parents should take our kids to the park and make them play rather than giving them a smart phone to play games. So let’s play safe!
